We were recommended Terri Harrison, out of a large number of realtors in town, by another English couple who had bought here with Terri’s help.

Terri was extremely helpful and professional throughout the whole procedure, which is very different from house buying in the UK. She fully explained the Canadian system to us and listened carefully to our requirements, what we needed and wanted, our likes and dislikes, so that she built up a good idea of what we were looking for. She was very quick in making appointments to visit potential properties in our price range (something important here as the market is hot and houses do not stay for sale for very long). She was happy to fit into our schedule (husband working away a lot, wife looking after our 18 month old) when showing us properties (evenings, weekends), would always return our numerous calls to answer our queries, and she would contact us regularly to keep us informed of progress once we had actually had our offer on our current home accepted (on which she helped negotiate a good price).

In addition to not showing us properties out of our price range, she showed us some properties which were not yet listed, but which were owned by clients of hers looking to sell, meaning we would get to see the property earlier than most. She also suggested buying off plan at some of the new developments which she took us to see, most of which are still not completed, which would have enabled us to see the value of our purchase increase before being completed, given the steadily rising market. This was not something other realtors we had met with had discussed.
Due to all this we imagine Terri is more familiar with the UK house buyer process than most other realtors!
